SANDBLASTING
COMPRESSED AIR SHOTBLASTING, SHOT PEENING AND SANDBLASTING SYSTEM
This new system allows DOMIZI to perform the following operations:
Shotblasting with tempered carbon steel abrasive, aimed at preparing the surface of iron/cast iron products for the various surface treatments they shall undergo (painting, galvanising, burnishing etc…).
Micro shot peening with stainless steel shots, aimed at satin finishing, smoothing and pickling the product surfaces.
The following are sample stainless steel shot applications:
- Stainless steel product surface preparation, as an alternative to chemical pickling
- Preparation of aluminium parts before coating (e.g. with Teflon)
- Satinising/satin finishing of aluminium parts before anodising
- Polishing of brass, copper, bronze, stainless steel products
Our plant (work area dimensions 5 x 3 x h = 3 m) consists of 2 independent return systems, one using tempered carbon steel abrasive for iron/cast iron products, and one specifically designed for micro shot peening with stainless steel shots, for all the non-ferrous materials (brass, copper, bronze, stainless steel etc..) that have to be treated with inert shots.
Each system consists of a loading hopper, a bucket elevator, an abrasive return silo and a sandblaster.
The segregation of the two return systems prevents any contamination between ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Important: to avoid damaging the system, the components to be sandblasted provided by our customers must be fully degreased, and there must be no trace of oil on them.
INSTANT PICKLING AND PASSIVATION
Domizi can provide its customers with an instant pickling and passivation service, using the “INOX SYSTEM”.
This system can remove any oxides and burns resulting from stainless steel welding and cutting. It is the only environmentally friendly treatment that allows to pickle TIG, PLASMA, LASER, ORBITAL, RESISTANCE and MIG welds instantaneously, effectively, without any waste/pollution and noiselessly.
The products used for INOX SYSTEM electric pickling don’t endanger the operator’s health and are not subject to health labelling; in addition, passivation helps protecting the weld.
