DESCRIPTION DA AND DB MODELS

The level of liquid present in a vessel is checked by the float being inside the main body, the chamber, of the Level Switch. When level rises up to the preset height, the float makes the output device trip (trip on rise); when level comes down again and exceeds the preset height, the float makes the output device come back to the initial position (reset on fall); between the set and reset heights there is always a gap, named differential : see below. The inverse function is available too: Trip on fall and Reset on rise. The output device can be electric or pneumatic, is snap action and is placed in the housing. Differently from DA, the type DB is provided with inspection flanges,
allowing to open the instrument and to clean it from possible residues of the liquid under control.
The Level Switches meet the PED and ATEX standards.
Applications. Alarm for Max and Min level, control of pumps on vesselsincluding simple water or chemical corrosive or toxic liquids, under pressures and temperatures also very high or very low; for liquids with specific gravity from 500kg/m³ up.

Differential.
The Switch trips when level reaches the X height and resets when comes back
to Y height (or on the contrary), as per the side sketch.
Usually the X point is fixed at 70mm below the top connection, and between X and Y there is a differential of about 30÷65mm (it changes on basis of the specific gravity of liquids); but, upon request, such heights and differentials can be made different too.
Outer finish.
Switches in carbon steel have the standard painting so realized : first coat in epoxy resin, and outer coat in green polyurethane resin; suitable for corrosive marine environments and tropical climates. Switches in stainless steel are polished and left bare.
Upon request, special versions can be produced too.

DL EExd version

Side Mounting Level Switch , side mounting , connections to vessel available: flanged; provided with 1 displacer and 1 or 2 Electric Switch Assembly , designs up to ANSI 2500 raiting.

DL PNEUMATIC version

Side Mounting Level Switch , side mounting , connections to vessel available: flanged; provided with 1 displacer and 1 Pneumatic Switch Assembly , designs up to ANSI 2500 raiting.

DESCRIPTION DL MODELS

The DL Swithes are mounted on a side of vessel by means of a flange. In these switches the level is checked by a float integral with a swinging rod: when level rises higher than the preset point, the float makes the output device trip (trip on rise); when level comes down again and exceeds the preset point, the float makes the output device come back to the initial position (reset on fall). Between the set and reset points there is always a gap, named differential; it is 50 ±10mm in the standard case, but can be also much higher in the case of special versions. The inverse function is available too : Trip on fall and Reset on rise. The output can be electric or pneumatic, is snap action and is placed in the housing.
The Switches meet the PED and ATEX standards.

DLBF EExd version

Side Mounting Level Switch with Flexible Tube , side mounting , connections to vessel available : flanged or sleeves threaded ; provided with 1 float and 1 Electric Microswitch ; designs per pressures up to 50 Kg./cm2.

DLBF PNEUMATIC version

Side Mounting Level Switch with Flexible Tube , side mounting , connections to vessel available : flanged or sleeves threaded ; provided with 1 float and 1 Pneumatic Relay ON-OFF 3÷15 PSI outlet ; designs up to ANSI 300 raiting.

DESCRIPTION DLBF MODELS

The DLBF Switches are mounted on a side of vessels by means of flange. The liquid level is checked by a float integral with a small metallic tube; this tube has a flattened part like in Bourdon tube, so that it can be bent only in the vertical sense. A thin rigid plate is placed within the tube and transmits the movement up to the output device placed within the housing. When liquid level rises up to the preset point, the float makes the output device trip (trip on rise); then, when level comes down again and exceeds the preset point, the float makes the output device come back to the initial position (reset on fall). Between the set and reset points there is always a gap, named differential; it is only 20 ±5mm in the standard case, but can be up to 300mm in special versions like in Fig. 10 prepared upon request. The inverse function is available too : Trip on fall and Reset on rise. The output is placed in the housing and can be electric (type DLBF7) or pneumatic (type DLBF5); the trip is snap action in the case of electric microswitch, whilst takes a few instants in the case of pneumatic switch. These Switches assure very high reliability : the hydrostatic lift on the float is transmitted to the output device in a quite direct way, i.e. without any sliding mechanical parts, and so without any risk of friction or jamming.
These Level Switches meet the ATEX standard.
In addition to the basic version (Fig. 2) with flange FL in Ø 3-4”, also other special versions are available, as for example :
• closed in cylindrical chamber with threaded sleeves connections (ANSI 150, 300 psi, Ø1”÷1½” NPT-F);
• closed in cylindrical chamber with flange connections, in I, L shape (ANSI 150, 300 psi, Ø1”÷2”);
• closed in cylindrical chamber in T shape, with 3 flanged branches (ANSI 150, 300 psi, Ø3”÷4”);
• other versions, to be defined together with user.

DESCRIPTION DLF MODELS

The DLF Switches are mounted on line with pipes to vessels. Connections can be made by sleeves (threaded or socket welding) or by flanges. In these types the liquid level is checked by a float integral with a swinging rod placed within the cylindric body. When level rises higher than the preset point, the float makes the output device trip (trip on rise); when level comes down again and exceeds the preset point, the float makes the output device come back to the initial position (reset on fall); between the set and reset points there is always a small gap, named differential, of 30 ±10mm. The inverse function is available too : Trip on fall and Reset on rise. The output can be electric or pneumatic, is snap action and is placed in the housing.
The Switches meet the PED and the ATEX standards.

Side Mounting Level Switch with Flexible Tube designed to be mounted specially in OFF-SHORE plant , side mounting , connections to vessel available : flanged or sleeves threaded ; provided with 1 float and 1 Pneumatic Relay with reversible function ; designs per pressures up to 500 Kg./cm2.

DESCRIPTION DLS MODELS

The DLS Switches are mounted on a side of vessels, even if very narrow. The liquid level is checked by a float integral with a small and very flexible tube; within this tube there is a rod fixed on only an end : the lift coming from float causes a bending on the outer tube and consequently a side thrust on the inner rod, that makes the output device trip (trip on rise); then, when the level comes down again and exceeds the preset point, the float makes the output device come back to the initial point (reset on fall); between the set and the reset points there is always a small gap, named differential, of about 5-10mm. The trip happens when level reaches about the median line of the float. The inverse function is available too : Trip on fall and Reset on rise. The output can be electric or pneumatic, is snap action and is placed in the housing. A so small differential can be obtained thanks to the combination between volume and weight of float, and length of the arm supporting the float; for this reason many types of float are available, different both in materials and in volumes, in stainless steel AISI 316 or in Plexiglas (polymethacrylat), in polyethylene, etc; everything depends on the kind of liquids, on their temperature, pressure, corrosiveness and specific gravity. Since it is frankly impossible to list all the existing solutions for every applications, Domizi Snc reserve to propose the properest solution only after having known the actual operating conditions of the Level Switch. Outer finish : Switches in carbon steel have the standard painting so realized : first coat in epoxy resin, and outer coat in green polyurethane resin; suitable for corrosive marine environments and tropical climates. Switches in stainless steel are polished and left bare.
The Level Switches meet the ATEX standard.
Applicazions. Level control on vessels containing various types of industrial liquids, in off-shore and in-shore oil plants. The Switch can operate with liquids having pressures up to 500 Bar, temp. up to 120°C and specific gravity from 500kg/m³ up.
